Mix Carwashing publishes its first Sustainability Report

Our company has always been attentive to sustainability, and we have therefore decided to report on our efforts in the first Mix Carwashing Sustainability Report.

In doing so, we not only carry out an action of great transparency towards all our stakeholders but also carry on with the work.

For large companies, the sustainability report is mandatory (European Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive – CSRD) while for us at Mix Carwashing, being an SME, it was a voluntary initiative.

Economic growth and sustainability go hand in hand

At Mix Carwashing we are convinced that economic growth cannot be separated from environmental and social sustainability.

Our rollovers are successful precisely because they use resources efficiently and minimize the dispersion of detergents into the environment, while our employees appreciate the strong bond, we have been able to establish with the territory and the community where we were born and raised. Without these solid roots, we could not thrive in markets that are literally on the other side of the world.

“For us at Mix Carwashing, sustainability is not an abstract concept or a passing fad, but an element integrated into the heart of our strategy and our way of operating daily – says Carlo Gavotto, founder of Mix Carwashing – In the design, manufacture and service of our car wash systems – whether they are self-service, automatic portals,  covers or accessories – we pay the utmost attention to quality, safety and efficiency”.

In the Report, which can be downloaded at this link, you will find all the initiatives carried out in 2024, the most important of which are the following (divided by area).

Environmental impact

Energy and climate

Thanks to the photovoltaic system that we have installed on the roof of our production hall, we have significantly reduced the withdrawal of energy from the national electricity grid. With an installed capacity of 11.9 kWp, 2024 production was 11,999 Kwh.

14% was used for self-consumption, i.e. to power production processes and offices. The benefit for the environment was in the order of 3.6 tons of CO₂ that were not emitted.

In addition to this, we have made our consumption more efficient, reaching an optimization of consumption of 24.4%.

Water and water management

Water resources have been the subject of particular attention. The company has introduced dry testing procedures, reducing the overall water consumption of the Occimiano plant by more than 40% compared to 2023. Wastewater purification and re-use systems allow customers to reduce the use of drinking water, ensuring regulatory compliance and washing quality.

Social dimension

Employment and welfare

The growth in turnover has made it possible to guarantee employment stability and new professional opportunities. We are an important and reliable employer in the community in which we operate.

Training and safety

Thousands of hours of training have been provided, both internally and through participation in external courses.

The focus was on safety and innovation.

The company’s goal is to keep the “zero accidents” index stable and to encourage the development of specialized skills and professional growth to project our employees towards the future challenges of the sector.

Local community

Mix Carwashing is rooted in the community of Casale Monferrato and supports social and cultural initiatives. In 2024, the company sponsored Monferrato Basket, Junior Women’s Volleyball and supported cultural events such as the White Truffle Festival in Cella Monte, as well as contributing donations to local non-profit organizations.

Governance and transparency

The role of the Board of Directors

The management of the company is entrusted to the Board of Directors, which guarantees compliance with ethical principles and the adoption of medium-long term strategies. In 2024, the presence of women on the Board of Directors reached 25%, confirming the focus on diversity and inclusion.

Model 231 and Code of Ethics

Mix Carwashing has adopted the Organisation, Management and Control Model (231), of which the Code of Ethics is an integral part. The company has strengthened its risk management processes, introduced supervisory procedures and promoted a system of transparent controls. The goal is to reduce legal and reputational risks, ensuring compliance with national and European regulations.

Certifications

Mix Carwashing has long been equipped with numerous certifications that attest to the quality and safety of our products.

  • ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management System): This certification guides our focus on process efficiency, product reliability and customer satisfaction. Well-managed processes reduce waste and rework, indirectly contributing to environmental and economic sustainability, and ensure consistent performance
  • ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management System): Provides the structured framework to monitor and control our environmental impacts, manage resources efficiently, optimize waste management, ensure regulatory compliance and stimulate innovation towards lower-impact solutions, such as those aimed at reducing the water and energy consumption of our plants
  • EN 1090 (metal structures) and CE marking: This certification guarantees the conformity, structural safety and durability of our roofing structures. This directly translates into greater safety for users (Social dimension) and a longer useful life of products, reducing the need for premature replacements (Environmental dimension)

Innovation and sustainable products

Our efforts to further improve sustainability continued in 2025. They are integrated into research and development.

The technical department has increased the hours dedicated to the study of solutions for:

  • reduce the energy consumption of the systems (motors, pumps, LED lighting)
  • Optimize water use with energy-efficient nozzles and intelligent control logics
  • reduce the use of chemicals, thanks to more efficient mechanical and hydrodynamic systems
  • extend the use of remote assistance and diagnostics, reducing travel and fuel consumption

“We want to continue to be a point of reference in the sector for technological innovation, developing increasingly high-performance systems but at the same time thrifty in the use of water, energy and chemicals – concludes Mr Gavotto – This means investing in the talent of our people, favouring collaboration with suppliers who share our quality and safety standards, and contributing positively to the well-being of our community and the protection of the environment that it hosts us”.
